In this article, we will analyze Oupinke watches, a brand that has become very popular in recent years due to its eye-catching automatic mechanical designs.

This brand often advertises itself as a manufacturer of Swiss watches, but in reality, considering the prices and platforms (such as Aliexpress) where they are sold, everything indicates that they are Chinese watches.

Certainly, this does not imply that they are low-quality watches, as there are also good manufacturers in China nowadays. However, it is necessary to investigate each brand with greater caution before making a decision.

Therefore, in this article, we will thoroughly analyze Oupinke watches, taking into account all their components and how they are made, to determine whether they are really good or not, regardless of their origin.

✚ Oupinke Watches: Origin and History

The first Oupinke watches started to be promoted around 2015, although the brand was not registered until 2020, so we are dealing with a relatively new brand in the world of watchmaking.

Oupinke Watches

The registrant is a person named Zhang, Zhiyong from the Chinese city of Shantou, which belongs to Guangdong, a region where a significant portion of Chinese watchmakers are based, with their headquarters located in Guangzhou.

Well-known Chinese watch brands such as Parnis, Pagani Design, or Skmei have their headquarters in the same city, although the Oupinke website does not clearly state where their watches are actually manufactured.

During my research, I discovered that the contact phone number on the Oupinke website is the same as the one on the OLEVS watches website, so they are likely the same company.

This information contradicts the description of their official store on Aliexpress, where it can be read that they are a Swiss brand with deep roots in the country. However, on their website, they clarify that they are inspired by the classic style of Swiss watches, rather than being a Swiss brand themselves.

They even mention that they have a famous designer with expertise in German and Swiss watchmaking. However, the true test of quality lies in the components and finishes of the watches, which we will analyze in the following sections.

✚ Are Oupinke Watches Good?

Oupinke is a Chinese brand that bases its business model on manufacturing watches that imitate classic Swiss designs. Most of their watches are mechanical and often have visible mechanisms, allowing you to see them in action.

Oupinke Watch

Not all of them are exceptional, but in general, most of their components are of good quality. Here are the main components:

  • Case: The company usually uses 316L stainless steel, which is a positive indicator as it is a notably resistant and durable material against corrosion.
  • Crystal: Most Oupinke watches incorporate sapphire crystal, a material that provides optimal clarity and scratch resistance, typical of luxury watches.
  • Bracelet: It can be made of leather or tungsten steel, depending on the model, with the latter being more resistant and durable. In fact, tungsten steel is even harder and more resistant than stainless steel.
  • Crown: It is marked with the Oupinke emblem on all models and, in some cases, has side protections to prevent unintended adjustments.
  • Movement: This is a mystery, as the model caliber is not mentioned in any of their watches. It is only known that they are 21-jewel automatic movements with a 45-hour power reserve. They are likely made in China.

Considering that the presentation is also usually quite decent, Oupinke watches can be a good option if obtained at a reasonable price. However, lately, they have been quite overpriced.

Brands like OLEVS produce very similar watches at much lower prices, so it is recommended to check their models before making a decision.

There are also brands like Steeldive or Tandorio that offer high-quality components (including Japanese movements) at a more affordable price and do not need to pretend to be Swiss watches.

✚ Prices and Reviews

Oupinke watches often exceed €200 in the market, which is an excessive price for the quality they offer, and this often leads to dissatisfaction among buyers.

However, if we decide to purchase these watches directly from China through popular e-commerce platforms like Aliexpress, and if we come across an attractive offer, the cost-benefit equation can change drastically.

Under these conditions, these watches can become an excellent option considering the features they offer. However, their real value should be taken into account, which would be closer to around €50.
